[Translate to English:] Holzmarkt 2008
It's been a great succes once again! The third woodmarket took place at the watertower in Dillingen on 8th November.
You could see the mobile sawmill from Mr Giebel and the hauling machine from Mr Morschett. As a contrast Mrs Isolde Heintz showed what work can be done even by a hauling pony instead of a big and heavy hauling horse. It was a pity that the harvester from Mr Penth has had a technical defect so that he couldn't join us this year. But you could watch André Loechel creating a wild boar out of a stem only with his chainsaw. In addition you could get lots of information about wood and forest, listen to live music performed by Swing and Co. Sextett. A colourful program inherented by cart driving and pony riding for the little guests, supplied by Isolde Heintz. Finally Speedy and Gonzales got their first run-out at a woodmarket.
Last but not least meals and drinks were provided: game soup, roasted sausages (even game sausages) served by Stephan Dillman (Pue's Altes Haus), seasonal beverages, coffee and cakes.
We also had an exhibiton with different chainsaws this time which was supported by Fa. Nikl. Otto, Beckingen. Instead of a tree climbing show you could only receive information about tree climbing, but we could present tree pruning to increase wood value with Michael Georgi. The sheep wool snuggery offered a rich choice of outdoor hats, woolen socks and much more products around "sheep".
As usually to the absolute highlight took place around 3 pm: the firewood auction. The last firewood lots in the community forest for this year came to auction. All those who haven´t had a chance until this daygot now their last chance to get some firewood to work it by themselves. Apart from just having so much fun at the auction!
And here are some pictures of this spectacle:
